All H-2B questions must be asked in the comments of this post. Questions posted elsewhere will be deleted.
We often receive questions about H-2B jobs, and while we wish we could help, the Alaska Seafood Processors community is unlikely to be able to assist.
Probably not.
Typically, seafood processing companies do not directly recruit H-2B workers. Instead, they work with third-party recruiters or agencies authorized to recruit from the countries designated by the U.S. government. The companies submit their hiring needs to the recruiter, who handles recruiting, interviewing, and hiring.
H-2B opportunities are limited to certain countries. If you are not from one of these countries, you probably cannot work as an H-2B employee.
If this isn't the answer you were hoping for, you are welcome to do your own research.
You can search online for H-2B recruiters or agencies in your country, or contact your local workforce center for guidance.
You may also check seafood processing company websites and social media pages to see if they mention H-2B opportunities. Keep in mind that if a company doesn't clearly state that it is seeking H-2B applicants, it's best not to contact them. These companies are busy with operations, including hiring people who are already authorized to work in the U.S.
